"I love them. I have a 'good' life. And some nights I fantasise about packing a suitcase and quietly slipping out the front door."
Somatic coaching for women who want to feel turned on in their lives.
You love your people and your life works.
And yet.
You've been giving for so long that you've stopped asking for what you want, and you're no longer sure what that is. So you daydream: about the suitcase, or about who you'd be if…
There's a quiet ache beneath the doing. I remember it myself: the end of a full day of children, a beautiful house, teaching, performing, everything cleaned up and everyone finally tucked in, and then finding myself sitting on the kitchen floor, zoned out or crying, beating myself up for feeling so unhappy inside a life I had so carefully built. Maybe you know this too: a sense that somewhere along the way - between the responsibilities, the roles, the endless adapting - something essential got crowded out.
Your desire. Your truth. The felt sense of being alive in your own body and your own life.
And maybe there's a part of you that is beginning to whisper: I want to feel hungry. I want to feel playful and creative. I want to feel daring, even sexy. Not just for two weeks on holiday, or in my most secret fantasies. I want this in my actual life: at work, with my kids, with the person I love, in the decisions that actually matter. I want to learn how to cultivate this. To feel it in my body, any time I choose.
You don’t need to know what you want yet, and you don’t need to blow up your life to find out.
Say it out loud.
I know this journey because I've lived it. Because I am living it.
As a professional violinist and divorced mother of two, I know what it is to reinvent yourself. To let go of who you were. To live through heartbreak and transformation and come out the other side more resilient, poised, and wiser.
I grew up with a pretty conventional idea of what my life was going to look like - wifehood, motherhood, and then a bit of a blank. I learned to accommodate and adapt. I became a professional violinist in London, built a career, a marriage, a family, a beautiful home. From the outside, life looked full. But inside I was hollow. Numb. Performing in every sense of the word.
When everything collapsed - divorce, Covid, a custody dispute, the loss of my identity as a musician I was left with nothing but raw pain and questions I could no longer avoid: who am I when I stop performing? What truly matters to me? What do I actually want?
What followed was the most difficult and the most alive period of my life. I learned to open fully - to sensation, to desire, to truth. To receive pleasure and pain and everything in between without needing to manage, avoid or explain it.
As I learned to befriend the parts of me I had ignored or suppressed, and as I learned to dance with what is, opportunities I never could have imagined started to arise. I now find myself walking a path I couldn't have dreamed of for myself, constantly amazed, curious, and grateful.
I've learned to approach life as the infinite game. It doesn't always come easy - but it's much more fun this way!
